About Ashland

Ashland, Oregon, referred to by many as “the Jewel of the Rogue Valley” and the gateway to the Pacific Northwest, is known as a spectacular outdoor area and the home of the famous Rogue River, surrounded by numerous clear mountain lakes and the magnificent Siskiyou Mountains. Recognized as some of the most desirable real estate in the country, Ashland’s cultural emphasis boasts the Tony award winning Shakespeare Festival (nine months a year), the Cabaret Theatre and world renown performing artists at the Peter Britt Music Festival in nearby Jacksonville. Ashland has numerous fine dining restaurants appealing to the most sophisticated palates, over thirty art galleries, an abundance of unique shops and is home to Southern Oregon University, an excellent small liberal arts institution.

There are four distinct seasons in Ashland, with a spring and fall which offers colors often compared to that of the eastern states. The average rainfall is nineteen inches and the mild winter offers an occasional snowfall to add some charm to the valley.

Mentioned in different publications as a desirable place to live Ashland has the potential to fit anyone’s living needs.
